Facebook Research App That Paid Teens 20 USD Per Month to Access Data Banned by Apple

Facebook’s controversial research app that paid young users 20 USD per month for allowing it to access their data and have them share their details through other means has now been banned by Apple. As a result, the social media giant can’t distribute the app on the iOS store.

Facebook has maintained that less than 5% of the research app users comprised of teens. However, the backlash that the app has invited is seen as another blow to Facebook’s already damaged reputation in the privacy and human rights arena.
