Ban on Online Sale of Drugs and Cosmetics to Stay: Madras High Court

Giving a hard blow to the buyers and sellers of online medicines, the Madras High Court has stayed the single judge order that bans the online sale of drugs and cosmetics. Last month, the Bench had suspended the order, thereby giving temporary relief to the stakeholders. However, this Wednesday, it passed the final order.

The Madras High Court was approached by six top online pharmacy companies that had appealed against the ban. However, as per the recent order, their future looks bleak. At present, there are around 10 major online pharmacy companies that have employed 20,000 people.
