The merger of Vijaya Bank, Dena Bank with Bank of Baroda Approved by Cabinet

This Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved the merger of Vijaya Bank, Dena Bank with Bank of Baroda (BoB). This will make BoB the third largest lender in India after State Bank of India and ICICI Bank.

Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the merger won’t affect the service conditions of the employees and there won’t be retrenchment either. He also said that the merger aims to make BoB a globally competitive leader.
