An E-Commerce Policy is Being Considered by Government, Says Suresh Prabhu

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said that the Government is looking to create an e-commerce policy, although no deadline for the same has been established yet.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Prabhu said that consultations regarding the “framework for a national policy on e-commerce” were held between the RBI, government ministries, e-commerce and IT companies, and industry bodies in April and July this year. He said that the framework will cover “anti-competitive agreements including vertical restraints”.
