UP Becomes Third State to Implement 10% Quota for Financially Weak in General Category

After Gujarat and Jharkhand, now Uttar Pradesh has introduced a 10% quota for financially weak individuals in general category in government jobs and educational institutions. The decision was taken in a recent meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Last Week, the Centre passed the legislation that provides for 10% reservation to the poor belonging to the general category. However, the states are also required to implement the law individually.
