State Bank of Mauritius Recovers 90% Money it Lost in Cyberattack

State Bank of Mauritius (SBM) India which lost nearly ₹190 crores in a cyber fraud on October 2 announced that it has recovered 90% of the amount. 

An SBM spokesperson said that the amount was lost through fraudulent SWIFT payments. However, with prompt and proactive measures, most of the money has been recovered and the lost amount now stands at around ₹19 crores only. They said that most of this amount will be recovered through an insurance claim as well, adding that not a single customer’s account has been impacted by the attack.
