Branch Openings Have Come Down: Kotak Mahindra Bank

Private sector Kotak Mahindra Bank said that due to the rise of digital transactions, the pace of opening new branches has come down in the last few years. Bank’s Joint Managing Director Dipak Gupta said that over 85% of the bank’s transactions take place over digital channels. He said that although the bank will continue to open new branches, it’s not at that pace as it was 2-3 years ago.

Gupta said that these days, you don’t need a lot of physical space as the mobile does a good job for banking-related tasks.
