SBI to Introduce Multiple Modes of Biometric Authentication for Apps

Public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI) is looking to launch a multi-model biometric authentication system for its mobile apps which would allow its users to verify transactions using their fingerprints, voice samples, or face recognition.

The feature will be enabled for one of the factors in a two-factor authentication model for banking products that use Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and mobile wallets. However, customers will be required to register their fingerprints at the bank’s server first.
