PNB Fraud: ex-MD Usha Ananthasubramanian Gets Bail

This Monday, Punjab National Bank’s former Managing Director, Usha Ananthasubramanian was granted bail by a special CBI court that was looking into the case of the Rs. 14,000 crore fraud at the bank. The court had received an approval to prosecute Ananthasubramanian earlier this month. 

Ananthasubramanian was named in the CBI charge sheet in connection with the Rs. 14,000 crore fraud involving in fake letters of undertakings (LoUs). It was also alleged that there were lapses in the bank’s security protocol when she was serving as the managing director.
