PM-Kisan’s First Tranche to Cover 24 Million Farmers

PM-KISAN which is a new direct income support scheme for the farmers is likely to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24 in Gorakhpur. At the event, he will transfer the first installment of ₹2,000 to 24 million farmers across the country. 

According to a senior government official, the total number of beneficiaries may increase by 5-6 million by the launch event as new beneficiaries are still being added to the PM-KISAN portal.
