Tourism Alone Generated Employment for 14 mn People in 4 Years: Tourism Minister

Tourism Minister KJ Alphons who was present at the second meeting of the National Tourism Advisory Council said that the tourism sector is alone responsible for the creation of 14 million jobs in the past 4 years. He said India grew to secure the 3rd rank in the world travel & tourism council’s power and performance index in 2018 from the 7th rank in 2017. He also said that the country shall achieve better growth with tourism as the development of infrastructure and connectivity has picked up the pace now.
