Odisha Announces ₹100 bn Scheme for Farmers

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a ₹100 billion scheme called Krushak Assistance for Livelihoods & Income Augmentation (KALIA) that aims to benefit farmers and sharecroppers. 

The KALIA scheme focuses on 5 key aspects:

  • Financial support to landless laborers and weak agriculture households
  • Livelihood support for landless households
  • Financial assistance for cultivation
  • Interest waiving for crop loans of up to ₹50,000
  • Life insurance for farmers
