New Norms Welcomed by Ecommerce Players, but Small Traders Unhappy

The new rules implemented by the government for e-commerce companies and trade groups have been appreciated by the entities involved. However, small vendors are miffed since now they are allowed to sell only 25% of their products online.

Snapdeal CEO Kunal Bahl tweeted that his company welcomes the updates on the FDI policy. Amazon India said that they are evaluating the circular.

An industry stakeholder said that the 25% sales restriction on the small sellers will hurt their business massively and they will need to ramp up production, invest in inventories to adjust with the new changes.
