Instagram to Update Rules on Self-Harm Content

Instagram is looking to update the rules for postings about self-harm after objections were raised in Britain in light of a suicide committed by a teen whose father said that the platform contributed to her decision.

Instagram’s Chief Economic Officer (CEO) made a public statement recently in which he said that the image and video sharing platform is committed to doing more to protect those who are vulnerable. He said that appropriate changes will be made to the rules and that the company is working with experts to find ways of helping the people when they need it.
