India’s Renewable Energy Capacity Reaches 73 GW

According to a senior government official, India has already installed 73.35 gigawatts (GW) worth of renewable energy, and projects of 21.5 gigawatts worth of capacity are underway. 

Anand Kumar, who is the Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said that India has emerged as a leader in the renewable energy sector in the world. He was present at the Skoch Summit during which the Ministry was awarded the Skoch Award for its outstanding performance.
