India to Remain Fastest-Growing Economy in 2019, 2020, Says UN Report

A UN report that was released this Wednesday said that India will continue to enjoy the status of the world’s fastest-growing economy in 2019 and 2020.
UN’s World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) report said that India’s GDP growth rate is projected to increase to 7.6% in 2019-20 from the expected growth rate of the current financial year of 7.4%. However, it may come down to 7.4% a year later.
The report said India’s impressive economic growth is attributed to the increased private consumptions, benefits from previous reforms, and a more expansionary fiscal stance.
