Govt Launches Global Housing Technology Challenge to Speed Up Affordable Housing

To promote the adoption of new and cost-effective construction technologies that can cut the construction time to just a few months against the conventional few years, the Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched the Global Housing Technology Challenge on January 14. 

The challenge aims to expedite the construction process to help the government achieve its target of building 1.2 crore affordable houses by 2022.
