Government Warns Twitter of Jailing its Employees if Offensive Content isn’t Removed

An official from the ministry of information technology has warned the micro-blogging website Twitter that its employees may have to pay hefty fines and face jail time of up to 7 years if they fail to remove objectionable content from the platform.
The government has asked Twitter to comply with the norms of the IT Act to prevent any kind of action under Section 69A which authorized the Center to have any content blocked to maintain order and peace.
