Government to Train One Lakh Students in GST Accountancy, Will Fund Fees

As many as one lakh students will get free training in GST Accountants course that will be launched by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). Their fees will be funded by the government itself, a senior official said.

Amit Anand Apte who is the president of ICAI said that the GST Accountants course will train 1 lakh accountants in the next 1 to 1.5 years.  He said that the course aims at ensuring that GST compliance is increased in the country especially in the SME sector.
