Government to Introduce New Gold Policy, Targeting Exports

Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu said that the government is finalizing an integrated gold policy that it expects to launch soon. He said that the policy is aimed at increasing the exports of yellow metal and jewelry, and promote the growth of gold industry in India. 

Prabhu said that they are looking at all elements of gold in the policy, adding that a meeting will be held in a few days with all the concerned individuals so that the policy can be set up on a priority basis.
