Government Mulls Over Insurance Cover for GST-Registered MSMEs

In what’s seen as another move to win the vote bank for the upcoming general elections, the government is looking to offer an insurance scheme to lakhs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are registered under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. Sources say that the scheme may provide accidental insurance cover up to ₹10 lakhs to small business owners at a low premium.
