Flipkart’s Bengaluru Facility to Use Robots for Processing Orders

Taking a major towards the adoption of automation technologies, India’s top ecommerce portal Flipkart has installed Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) at its Bengaluru facility which will increase the supply chain efficiency and help process a large number of orders especially during festive seasons.

Each AGV comprises 100+ self-guided bots that can sort and assign packages based on different pin codes by using the information on each package. The bots can carry small packages from one spot to another and enhance the throughput without requiring any additional space.

Flipkart said that the AGVs can push the efficiency by as much as 60% and let it use its workers in other areas.
