Facebook to Set up Independent Board for Content Monitoring

As Facebook has come under the scanner numerous times for content related to bullying, hate speech, etc., it looks to set up an external independent board that can moderate the content that’s published on the platform.

The social media giant said that it will follow whatever rules the board will create unless there are legal hindrances. It said that the board will be established by the end of 2019 and may include up to 40 professionals with experience in privacy, free speech, and civil rights.
