E-Visa Facility Extended to 165 Nations to Boost Indian Tourism

In a bid to promote tourism in India, the government has extended the e-visa facility to 165 countries at 25 airports and 5 seaports.

Tourism Minister K J Alphons said that the government’s newly launched “Incredible India 2.0” campaign aims to shift from generic promotions to market-specific ones. In regard to that, a 24/7 free multi-lingual tourist helpline has also been rolled out for the tourists.

E-visa is a special visa offered to foreigners for business, tourism, or medical purposes and valid for up to 2 months. However, a person whose parents or grandparents were born or raised in Pakistan, don’t qualify even if they have citizenship of other countries.
