Cabinet May Soon Approve FAME’s Second Phase with Rs. 9,381 cr Disbursement

FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles) India scheme which looks at encouraging the adoption of energy-efficient vehicles in the country for 5 years in its second phase may soon get approval from the union cabinet and receive funding of Rs. 9,381 crores, sources said.

According to a senior official, a draft note containing the details of the proposed scheme including new renewable energy, transportation, and highways, etc. have been issued and circulated in various government departments by the Heavy Industry Ministry.
