Best-Performing States to be Awarded Under PMAY Scheme

To encourage Indian states and Union Territories (UT) to deliver better performance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the government will award the best-performing states and UTs.
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said that awarding the deserving states will help the government to achieve the target of providing affordable housing to all.
The government has set a target of one crore houses under PMAY by 2022. However, only 15 lakh houses have been constructed under the same so far.
