Ayushman Bharat: Pilot Run Launched in Chhattisgarh at 1,000 Hospitals

The pilot run of the National Health Insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat has been launched in Chhattisgarh starting with 1,033 hospitals. The full scheme will be launched across the country on September 25 to cover more than 107 million financially weak households.  

Chhattisgarh’s health commissioner R Prasanna said that the pilot run has started in the state in 1,033 hospitals out of which 425 are private and 608 public. He said all the necessary steps have been taken for the scheme’s successful implementation including the development of smart cards that shall be distributed as soon as the centre gives the green signal.
