AI Affecting Jobs but no Mass Unemployment Expected, Says UN Labor Expert

Although the rise of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and automation has made people to worry about their jobs which they think might be taken over, a UN labor expert said that humans still have greater control due to their creative capacity. 

The expert Ekkehart Ernst who is the Chief of Macroeconomic Policies and Jobs Unit at the UN’s International Labor Organization (ILO) said that the manufacturing sector won’t profit a lot from AI. However, it may have an impact on jobs in the construction, business, and healthcare sectors.
