8.73 Lakh Jobs in 5 Years Generated by IT Sector, Says Ravi Shankar Prasad
March 23, 2019
Dismissing the reports on a low employment generation rate across India, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Information Technology (IT) sector generated as many as 8.73 lakh jobs in the past 5 years.
The IT Minister also alleged that Congress is “indulging in falsehoods”. He said he speaks on his party’s performance and facts rather than rhetoric or falsehoods. He also cited Nasscom’s data and said that the IT sector has created 8.73 lakh jobs in the last 5 years and is now providing employment to around 41 lakh individuals directly, and to 1.2 crores individuals indirectly.
