World’s First Remote Surgery with 5G Technology Conducted in China

China has become the world’s first country to perform a remote surgery using 5G technology which has added another feather in its cap in the domain of technology and healthcare.

The surgery was performed this Saturday by Surgeon Ling Zhipei through a collaboration between China Mobile, Huawei, and the Chinese PLA General Hospital. However, he himself was located in a remote location in South China’s Hainan Province.

A Chinese newspaper reported that 5G technology allowed for low-latency data transmission which was one of the main reasons behind the remote surgery’s success.
