2 Cr Men Lost Jobs Between 2012-18: NSSO Survey

According to the Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) 2017-18 report which is yet to be released by the government, the number of men employed men in India fell down by around 2 crores between FY12 and FY18. It says that in 2011-12, the number of employed men was 30.4 crores but in 2017-18 there were only 28.6 crores employed men across the country.

The report was compiled and approved by the National Statistical Commission (NSC) in December 2018 and was to be released in public. However, the government put it on hold, a decision which drew flak from the opposition and various economists.
