1,329 Fraud Cases During April-December Cost SBI ₹5,555 crores

India’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) reported 1,329 cases of fraud between April and December that cost it to the tune of ₹5,555 crores. This information came to light because of an RTI query raised by activist Chandrashekhar Gaud. 

SBI said that it lost ₹723 crores to 669 frauds in the first quarter, and ₹4,832 crores in the second quarter.
