10% Quota for Poor in General Category to be Financially Backed by Govt

After introducing a 10% quota for financial weak individuals in general category in government jobs and academic institutions, the Central Government has decided to provide funds to various universities and colleges for a successful implementation of the same.
Higher Education Secretary, R Subrahmanyam said that the government is clear about funding the initiative. He said that it has already asked the institutes about their requirements so that a funding plan can be prepared.
As many as 40 central universities including AMU, JNU, and DU have been approached by the government to inquire about their seat availability and financial requirements.
