Email Marketing for Millennials: A Brief Guide
November 22, 2018
Believe it or not, email marketing is quite effective even today, especially for the millennials.
A study conducted by Adestra that surveyed more than 1,200 individuals found that 74% of millennials prefer to receive communication from a business through emails. However, for an email marketing campaign to be successful, you must take care of a few things.
These are:
Personalized Communication
A large number of businesses have started using automation tools for social media, live chat service, and even emails. However, these tools use pre-defined templates for communication which can hurt your brand in the long term. This is because the consumers seek personalized communication rather than generic messages and emails.
When you send an email that’s written exclusively for one customer, then it shows that you care about them and respect their patronage. You must remember this in your marketing campaigns.
Promotional Offers
According to a study by SendinBlue, the millennials are highly likely (59% of the users) to respond to a “call to action” when an email offers a sitewide or product category-wide promotion offer. In other words, when you offer something of true value to millennials via emails, then you can enjoy a high conversion rate.
Keeping it Subtle
The millennials don’t like it when products and services are forced upon them. So, sending an email that asks them to pay for a certain commodity time and again can compel them to opt out of the subscription list altogether.
If you want your email marketing techniques to work, then make sure that there is a good balance between marketing and value proposition. So, you can send two emails that offer discounts and/or free eBooks, and then one that uses a “call to action”.
Email marketing has the highest ROI and it’s quite affordable too. You just need to master the basics and curate the content for the target audience to make it work. Good luck!
