World Bank to Loan $300 mn to India for Electric Vehicles Push

To help India with its energy efficiency programmes, the World Bank has decided to offer a loan of 300 million USD, sources said. These funds can be used by the government to set up an appropriate infrastructure that can push electric vehicles across the country.

Last month, the Committee of Secretaries was intimated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) that the World Bank is to offer financial support to India through PSU Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL).
