Women at Higher Risk of Losing Jobs to Automation, Says Report
December 26, 2018
According to a new report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), women are more vulnerable to automation than males in terms of job stability. It says that around 26 million female jobs in 30 countries could be replaced by technology and automation in the next 20 years as the businesses are quickly becoming technology-driven.
IMF research says that the majority of women perform occupational and routine tasks which is why they are challenged by automation. However, those whose jobs involve communication, analytics, etc. are less prone, it says.
