WHO Praises Swachh Bharat Mission, Says it Can Save 3 Lakh Lives

Even as the Swacch Bharat Mission is just a few months away from celebrating its 4 year anniversary, the international health body ‘World Health Organization’ has praised the impact it has had so far and said that it can protect the lives of as many as 3 lakh people in the country if it manages to achieve its October 2019 target.

One of the main goals of the Swacch Bharat Mission was to make India 100% open-defecation free by October 2019, i.e. in 5 years since its launch. So far, 69.4% of this target has been achieved.
