Walmart to Open 5-7 Stores in India This Year

Walmart is looking to set up as many as 5-7 stores in 2019, Walmart India’s CEO and President Krish Iyer said. He said that the company wants to expand its operations in the cash and carry segment and expects double-digit growth in omnichannel.

Iyer said that last year, the top global retailer opened two stores in India, and this year it shall launch 5-7 more. He also said that the company is on track of achieving its target of 50 stores in India by 2020.
