Up to 49% SBI Caps Equity to be Sold by Lender

As a part of its Rs. 20,000 crores capital-raising exercise, public sector State Bank of India (SBI) is planning to sell up to 49% state in its investment banking arm SBI Capital Markets aka SBI Caps.

SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar said that this year SBI is planning to get a partner for SBI Caps by giving away 24% to 49% equity. He said that the bank is also planning to sell up to 5% stake in SBI General Insurance.
