Telecom Secretary Assures Alternative Jobs to Laid Off Telecom Workers

Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan, in conversation with the media, said that in view of the concerned professionals in the telecom sector who recently lost their jobs, the government has started to help by offering alternative employment.

Sundararajan said that efforts are being made to stabilize the telecom sector, mainly through the new telecom policy.

According to industry estimates, as many as 90,000 workers in the telecom sector were put out of work after the highly aggressive launch of Reliance’s Jio.
