Soon, More Capital to be Infused in Banks by FinMin

After committing capital infusion of nearly Rs. 11,336 crores in 5 public sector banks, the finance ministry is now assessing the market condition of a few other lenders and may approve the funding as required by the end of second quarter. 

An official who is aware of the developments said that 2-3 banks need capital to meet the norms and shall receive funds by the end of September. 

Finance ministry had recently approved Rs. 11,336 crores worth of financial aid to Punjab National Bank, Allahabad Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Corporation Bank, and Andhra Bank.
