Shriram General’s Net Profit Increased 82% in FY18, Managing Director Explains

Private insurance company Shriram General Insurance said that its net profit increased to Rs. 400 crores in the financial year 2017-18, thus marking an 82% growth on a year over year basis.
In a recent interview with Moneycontrol, the insurer’s managing director Neeraj Prakash said that the main reasons behind the huge revenue growth are declined claims and increased investment income. He also said that the insurer has joined hands with several rural banks to expand its distribution network and is currently in talks with some large banks as well.
