SEZ Exports Grew 5% in April, Says EPCES

The Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs (EPCES) said that the exports from Special Economic Zones (SEZs) increased from Rs. 19,488 crores to Rs. 20,548 crores on a year-over-year basis in April, which is an impressive 5.44% jump.

The council said that the highest growth was observed in the Cochin SEZ whose exports grew to Rs 3,708 crores from mere Rs. 461 crores, which is a 704% increase.

Council’s officiating chairman Vinay Sharma said that the government policies have encouraged the growth of the service and manufacturing industry.
