SBI Partners with Reliance Jio to Boost Digital Transactions

In a bid to boost digital payments across the country, public sector State Bank of India (SBI) has signed an agreement with telecom giant Reliance Jio under which its digital banking service YONO will be integrated into the MyJio application.

SBI said that now all the Reliance Jio handsets will come preloaded with YONO service and its existing customers will also benefit with Jio Prime platform which offers exclusive deals from Reliance Retail and associated brands.

SBI’s deputy managing director Mrutyunjay Mahapatra said that since it’s a non-exclusive deal, the bank may establish a similar partnership with other service providers as well. However, there are no such plans as of  now, he said.
