Saudi Arabia Tables $200 bn Softbank Solar Project

According to a recent report by Wall Street Journal, Saudi Arabia has tabled a whopping $200 billion plan with SoftBank Group Corp. to build the world’s largest solar-power project. Although the actual work hasn’t started yet, the government is working on a strategy to capitalize on the solar power in a more efficient and broad manner. The details are expected to be announced by the end of October.

An announcement was made by the SoftBank CEO in March about the plan to build the world’s largest solar power project in the Saudi kingdom. The project is estimated to generate up to 200 gigawatts of power by 2030.
