Rs. 25,775 cr Lost in Bank Frauds in FY18, RTI Response Reveals

21 Public Sector Banks (PSBs) lost nearly Rs. 25,775 crores in frauds in the financial year 2017-18, a Right To Information (RTI) inquiry filed by Chandrasekhar Gaud with the central bank RBI reveals. However, the RTI response didn’t mention any details of the banking frauds.

As per the RTI reply, State Bank of India (SBI) lost Rs. 2390.75 crores, Bank of India (BoI) Rs. 2,224.86 crores, Bank of Baroda’s (BoB) Rs. 1,928.25 crores, Allahabad Bank Rs. 1,520.37 crores, Andhra Bank Rs. 1,303.30 crores and UCO Bank Rs. 1,224.64 crores.
