RBI Sought by Centre for MSME Norms Relaxation

The Reserve Bank of India has been approached by the central government for the relaxation of norms for the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In particular, the governments want relaxation regarding bad loans and Non-Performing Assets for the sector so that they can deal with the cash crunch problem.

The MSME ministry has urged the central bank to increase the NPA classification period to 6 months from the current 3 months.
