Rahul Gandhi’s Minimum Income Scheme to Cost Exchequer ₹3.6 Lakh cr a Year
March 28, 2019
The minimum income scheme for the poor that was promised by Congress President Rahul Gandhi will cost the government around ₹3.6 lakh crores per annum, economists predict.
The scheme aims to provide ₹72,000 per year to 20% of the poorest families in India and benefit around 25 crore individuals. However, economists believe that it can add a massive burden on the economy which is why the party must share the specifics of the scheme.
