PSBs Suffer Rs. 87,000 cr Loss in FY18

Out of the total 21 public sector banks (PSBs), 19 reported a total loss of Rs. 87,357 crores during financial year 2017-18. The hardest hit was taken by Punjab National Bank (PNB) which alone suffered a loss of Rs. 12,283 crores.

Save for Vijaya Bank and Indian bank which reported profits of Rs. 727 crores and Rs. 1,258 crores during FY18 respectively, all the PSBs reported their revenue in the red.

The highest loss was reported by PNB followed by IDBI which reported a loss of Rs. 8,237.93 crores.
