Policy Framework for E-commerce to be Ready in 6 Months, Says Commerce Secretary

To address a number of issues that the e-commerce industry is facing today, the government is working to finalize a policy framework for the same within the next 6 months.

Rita Teotia, Commerce Secretary said that a task force will be set up that will consider and evaluate the inputs given by the industry stakeholders and share the same with the thinktank body along with recommendations.

A meeting was held recently regarding the policy framework by the commerce ministry officials who were joined by 50 industry stakeholders including Flipkart, Snapdeal, PayTM, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), etc.
